They called me Bake, Back, Baker, Bocke, Batchie, and my personal favorite Backeee!

But now…..I am Emily Salazar

I would like to take a moment to thank you for your support and interest in my artwork! Without you, none of this would be possible and for that, I am truly grateful!

A little history into my passion for the visual arts. I began my performance journey at the age of 5 studying ballet with the Marya Kennett Dance Center in New York. A few years and two moves later, I found a love for the marching arts and the community surrounding the activity in Hampstead North Carolina where I marched with Topsail High School from 2011-2015. I followed my passion for the arts at East Carolina University, where I graduated with a B.F.A in Animation and Interactive Design. During this time and the few years to follow, I marched with the ECU Marching Pirates from 2015-2018,

ECU Winterguard from 2016-2018, First Flight World from 2019-2020, and finally

Pride of Cincinnati in 2021. As they say, the rest is history!

I have had the pleasure of working and performing with wonderful individuals and organizations to bring their visions to life. There is not another community quite like the one found in the Marching Arts. And what better way to combine my passions for performance and design than to work alongside the directors, instructors,

creators, and fellow performers that share the very same love!
